This project is dedicated to translating core 12 Step recovery literature into Haitian Creole to better serve the Haitian American community.

PHASE 1

The project will focus on translating foundational 12 Step texts, including the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, personal recovery stories, and introductory guides.
PHASE 2

These materials provide essential knowledge and encouragement for individuals new to recovery, helping them understand the principles, structure, and fellowship of the 12 Step process.

PHASE 3

The translated literature will be distributed through local recovery meetings, community centers, churches, and healthcare providers who work with Haitian populations.
PHASE 4

The translation process will be carried out by bilingual professionals with both linguistic expertise and a deep understanding of 12 Step philosophy.

PHASE 5

Emphasis will be placed on culturally sensitive language that reflects the unique spiritual and communal values of the Haitian American experience. The goal is not just to translate words but to convey meaning in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
